Cambodia is also one of the countries in Southeast Asia where the food and beverage market is showing rapid growth. As consumers’ overall standard of living improved, they began to enjoy a wide variety of food and dining options. In Cambodia, where more than 50% of the population is 30 years or younger, the younger IT-savvy generation who have been exposed to various cultures abroad through traveling and social media is leading a new consumption trend. Frameless glass exterior with the look of European greenhouse gardens
The first Paris Baguette store opened in Cambodia, the Boeung Keng Kang branch, in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. It is located near the Independence Monument, a symbol of Cambodia’s modern history, and it is also called NGOville because a number of NGOs engaged in development assistance in Cambodia are located there. Boeung Keng Kang I, where the Paris Baguette store is located, is Cambodia’s largest commercial and tourist area and is the destination most visited by locals and tourists.
The interior of the store features open space with a mezzanine structure
The Boeung Keng Kang branch is noteworthy because it is the first joint venture established by the SPC group and the local partner, the HSC group. Based on the partner’s knowledge and experience in the local market, we continuously consulted to make decisions necessary for market entry and overall operation, such as selecting the location for the new store, setting target customers and brand directions, flagship products, interior design at the store, and construction. As a result, we were able to launch an outstanding store that satisfied the local customers’ expectations.

To establish the first Paris Baguette store in Cambodia, we made an extra effort since the design stage of building the Boeung Keng Kang branch. It is a flagship store designed as a three-story stand-alone building with a total area of about 390㎡ to convey the unique brand concept of Paris Baguette. Inside, the first floor has an open kitchen and a total of 71 seats, and the second floor has a mezzanine structure that opens up a large space with a high ceiling and a view of the lower floor. It has frameless glass walls, creating a cozy atmosphere like a greenhouse in a European garden. Distinguished by the excellent exterior and interior design rarely found there, we expect the store to become a widely beloved, favorite local landmark in Cambodia.

The bakery cafe’s open kitchen creates a sense of trust
Considering Cambodia’s family-oriented lifestyle and the younger generation’s familiarity with cafes, the Paris Baguette Boeung Keng Kang branch is based on the concept of a bakery cafe where you can take a break and relax. Here, customers can enjoy the flagship items popular at existing stores in Southeast Asia, such as Singapore and Vietnam, as well as localized brunch dishes that pair nicely with European-style bread to accommodate the tastes of men and women of all ages in Cambodia. Currently, the store is operated in accordance with COVID-19 response measures. To protect the safety of customers and employees, the store is constantly disinfected. We are also upgrading take-out and delivery services for customers’ convenience.
