Located in the vicinity of Gangnam Station, SPC Square is a cultural dining complex that presents SPC Group’s major brand stores in one location. Recently, SPC Group has remodeled and rearranged this building as Square Gangnam, a place that offers both art and dining at once. Showcasing a lineup that has become even more appealing and diverse with the opening of Shake Shack, Baskin Robbins and Dunkin’, we’ll examine the new and improved Square Gangnam today.

Square Gangnam, a “food-tainment” space offering both artistic and culinary experiences in one location

A food-tainment space combining art and dining

Exterior of the Square Gangnam building

Located within a short walking distance from Exit No. 4 of Gangnam Station, this is Square Gangnam, SPC Group’s Flagship Store, a highly-recommended destination for those who are hesitating to choose a place to eat amid the busy bustle of Gangnam. It offers SPC Group’s key dining brands including Shake Shack, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin’ and La Grillia, in addition to various cultural experiences. As a standalone building with a total floor area of 2,000㎡, Square Gangnam was arranged as a food-tainment (food + entertainment) space under the concept of “Tasty Playground” where visitors can enjoy delicious food while appreciating the artwork of world-renowned artists.

Vibrant artwork created in collaboration with renowned artists

Square Gangnam presents a vibrant atmosphere by applying the graffiti work of world-renowned graffiti artist Martin Ron on its exterior, elevators and walls. In addition, Shake Shack continued its tradition of collaborating with Korean and foreign artists with each new store by showcasing eye-catching artwork titled “Popping!” with graphic designer Cha In Chul. Artist Cha is said to have experienced an epiphany as though a spark went off in his head on the first time that he tasted Shake Shack at New York’s Madison Square Park as a child. Inspired by this experience, his artwork is available for viewing at the Shake Shack store located on the first floor of Square Gangnam.

Baskin Robbins store decorated in a fairytale style

The Baskin Robbins and Dunkin’ stores on the second floor of Square Gangnam have also been decorated with pleasing artwork. The artwork used in the Baskin Robbins Square Gangnam store was created through the collaboration of Studio Xtra, BR Korea’s in-house design center, and a design agency based in California, United States. The Baskin Robbins store created a mystical, fairytale ambience with the numerous ice cream flavors visually represented as hot-air balloons. Meanwhile, the Dunkin’ store used donut-shaped sculptures and ribbons in the brand’s signature colors to fill the space in trendy and hip sensibilities.

Unique menus only available at Square Gangnam

Special menu items available only at Shake Shack Square Gangnam

Shake Shack showcases a signature “concrete” that reflects local characteristics at each of its stores. Concretes are Shake Shack’s signature dessert menu that consists of blended frozen custard with a chewy texture and rich flavor. Shake Shack Square Gangnam’s signature concrete is “Coco Gangnam,” made in hot pink with dragon fruit and adding gentle flavors and diverse textures with coconut milk, coconut jelly and dried coconut chips. In addition, Shake Shack is currently offering its seasonal limited edition menu item, the “Horseradish Peppercorn Series,” which presents an explosion of flavor through a Shake Shack-style reinterpretation of the horseradish sauce that is a staple of New York steakhouses.

Dunkin’ Square Gangnam’s signature menu

Dunkin’ Square Gangnam is also presenting a special menu, allowing visitors to experience a match made in heaven through the combination of Dunkin’s signature drinks and Baskin Robbins’s ice cream. For example, “Chocolate Parfait 352” combines Dunkin’s signature chocolate beverage with Baskin Robbins’s chocolate ice cream and toppings to present a rich array of chocolate flavors. “Espresso Parfait 352” adds BR’s soft vanilla ice cream and biscuit toppings to Dunkin’s signature espresso shot. In terms of Dunkin’s donut menu, “Chocolate Milk Cream Donut” and “Pink Milk Cream Donut” presents chocolate-coated donuts filled with fresh strawberry jam and soft whipped cream. We also recommend “Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich” and “Pink Ice Cream Sandwich,” which are filled with vanilla ice cream instead of whipped cream, in addition to Dunkin’s more exotic donuts.

Lastly, shall we take a look at Baskin Robbins Square Gangnam’s special menu items? For outgoing socialites who want to experience the latest in hipster desserts, we recommend “O Crepe,” a crepe filled generously with sweet vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and fruit for a robust visual and tasting experience. “O Crepe” comes in two flavors, “Strawberry Chocolate,” adding chocolate sauce and strawberries to the mix, and “Banana Peanut Butter” topped with peanut butter and banana. Meanwhile, “Cold Brew Oat Latte” is a drink that combines the nutty flavor of oat milk and the richness of cold brew coffee, which is particularly recommended for those who wish to enjoy their latte without the heaviness of dairy. Baskin Robbins Square Gangnam offers as many as a hundred ice cream flavors. Visit Square Gangnam to try flavors that you’ve never experienced before!
