SPC GFS Concludes MOU with Buyeo-gun for Increasing Distribution of Agricultural Products

SPC GFS, a subsidiary of SPC Group specialized in food supplies distribution, announced on December 1, 2021 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Buyeo-gun government for increasing distribution of agricultural products of the county as part of its ESG (environmental, social and governance)-focused win-win management.

With the MOU, SPC GFS will start in 2022 to purchase over 1,800 tons of agricultural products produced in Buyeo, including tomatoes, strawberries and cucumbers, and increase their distribution to other subsidiaries of SPC Group and other food companies.

Providing high-quality seasonal agricultural products every year under its own brand ‘Goodtrea’, Buyeo-gun produces over 17,770 tons of tomatoes annually, as the third largest producer of tomatoes in Korea. Besides tomatoes, it grows high quality agricultural products, including strawberries, cucumbers, melons and chestnuts, while striving to enhance the value of its agricultural product brand through continued technical education of farming families.

“We hope the agreement will help farming households in Buyeo-gun secure sustainability and stability in agriculture by contributing to increasing sales of their agricultural products through diversified distribution channels of SPC GFS,” said a manager at SPC GFS.

Last month, SPC GFS concluded an MOU with Changnyeong-gun for increasing the distribution of agricultural products of the county.
