SPC Paris Baguette Breaks 100th Store Mark and Opens 120th Affiliated Store

 

– Reached 85% of the total franchise… Plans for 160 additional franchise contracts within the year

 


 

SPC bakery brand Paris Baguette announced that it passed the 100th franchisee line in the United States on January 30, 2023.

 

Paris Baguette opened its 100th affiliated store, the ‘Red Bank branch’, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, in the eastern region of the United States, accelerating its expansion efforts of the franchise business. In particular, the Red Bank branch holds significance in that it is located in the local mainstream trading area where natives comprise more than 95% of the local population. Paris Baguette plans to sign 160 additional franchise contracts this year and aims to open 1,000 stores across the United States by 2030.

 

Affiliated stores account for about 85% of all Paris Baguette stores operated in the United States. Paris Baguette has been successful in taking root in local mainstream commercial districts such as Manhattan Times Square, Midtown, Upper West Side, and Downtown L.A. in New York, and is loved by local people. In addition to the main areas near Silicon Valley, the western foothold encompassing Los Angeles and San Diego, and the eastern foothold linking New York, New Jersey, and Boston, etc., SPC plans to continue opening additional stores in new regions such as North Carolina, Colorado, Maryland, Washington, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Hawaii.

 

Meanwhile, Paris Baguette has opened 120 stores across the eastern and western regions in the US since its first entrance in the country in 2005, drawing much attention from the US bakery industry. In particular, the company ranked 25th, the highest among Korean companies, in the ‘Top 500 Franchise Companies’ selected by the US Franchise Times last year, which evidences that its achievements in the US business are being recognized.

 

SPC has been highly active in expanding its global business by opening two stores in the UK and three stores in France last year, acquiring ‘LINA’S’, a French sandwich & salad specialty brand, and planning to open its first store in Canada this year. Currently, Paris Baguette is operating a total of 450 global stores in nine countries, including the United States and China.

 

An official from SPC said, “Our global business is brisk with the number of US franchisees surpassing the one hundred mark.” He added, “We will continue our drive to the expansion of the global business this year, including making a foray into the Canadian market and completing the Malaysian plant.”
