Paris Baguette Tanhyeon II – Spreading Happiness in Society through Sharing

Paris Baguette Tanhyeon II located in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, won the 2017 Minister of Health and Welfare commendation at the National Social Welfare Sharing Contest. From 2009 to 2017, bread worth about 60 million won was donated to the Munchon 9 Welfare Center Food Bank on a total of 1,747 occasions to help solve the problem of undernutrition for the underprivileged and to create a food donation culture in the region.

Store owner Jae-kwang Jeong is a regular donor to Munchon 9 Basic Food Bank and has been donating Paris Baguette products to local children and the elderly since 2009.
The Basic Food Bank is a place where food or daily necessities are donated by companies and individuals and delivered to the vulnerable who are in danger of starvation. It is the largest sharing system in Korea, with about 450 organizations across the country, collecting donated items from each region and sharing them with low-income underprivileged people, such as undernourished children and elderly people living alone.
He opened his first store in 2002, expanded and relocated the store to its current location in 2007, and established a relationship with the Munchon 9 Welfare Center Food Bank. Since 2009, he has participated in donation activities in earnest and has been communicating with his neighbors for about 15 years. “I think it is very important to be able to share what I have,” said Jae-kwang Jeong, the store owner. “I am happy that small sharing can help the local community,” he said, expressing his feelings, “I will continue to make efforts to promote the local culture of sharing.”
A Veteran Store Owner Who Has Been with SPC for 22 Years

Store owner Jae-kwang Jeong, who is a veteran and a former baker, has operated the Paris Baguette store for over 20 years, and has a special relationship with SPC. When he graduated from university, it was difficult to find a job due to the IMF crisis, so he decided to make bread as a hobby and took a baking course at the Hanbul Bakery Technology Academy (currently SPC Culinary Academy) run by SPC. Jae-kwang Jeong didn’t major in baking, so he didn’t plan to pursue it as his career at that time, but while the recession continued due to the IMF crisis, he was given the opportunity to work as a baker right after completing the course, and started working as a baker at a Paris Baguette store. From this point on, he started a relationship with Paris Baguette in earnest and took over the store he was working for less than two years after working as a baker.
