SPC Shake Shack’s Gangnam Branch, the first Shake Shack store, to Hold Pre-event to Promote Its Relocation in August

SPC (Chairman Hur Young-in) announced on July 4 that it has decided to relocate its first Shake Shack store, ‘Gangnam Branch,’ in August, and would hold abundant pre-opening events.

Shake Shack’s Gangnam Branch plans to reopen after relocating from the existing location near Sinnonhyeon Station to a new place near Gangnam Station with higher floating population. (* New address: 421, Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea)

Before the relocation and reopening of Gangnam Branch, Shake Shack collaborated with an artist ‘SeoInji’ who uses intense colors to present Hoarding Art (an art activity using temporary screen-fence around the construction site) called ‘The Landmark in Gangnam’. Based on the story of the first store of Shake Shack, the main point and meeting place of Gangnam, this Hoarding Art expressed the Gangnam Branch where many people gather as a fun-filled merry-go-round, and described various people bringing together to enjoy the Shake Shack menu with smiles.

The Hoarding Art is a Shake Shack’s public art event that takes places whenever a new store opens and reflects the characteristics of the region. It has taken root as a unique cultural event of Shake Shack where the local community and consumers join for creation together.

Shake Shack is schedule to hold a pre-event to mark the relocation of the Gangnam Branch. First, from July 5 to August 4, among the applicants who scan the QR code on the hoarding wall and submit the reason why they want to participate in the ‘Housewarming Party’, a pre-opening tasting event on Shake Shack SNS, 60 people will be given the opportunity to participate in the event through a lottery. The ‘House Warming Party’ is an occasion to invite customers and express gratitude towards them, and various programs will be organized. In addition, from July 17 to August 4, among those who take a proof-picture at the Selfie (self-portrait) zone installed in Hoarding Art and post the required hashtag (#Shake ShackGangnam or #Happyface) along with their photos on Instagram, 30 people will be given an additional chance to participate in the ‘House Warming Party’ through a drawing.

In addition, Shake Shack will donate $1 per proof-shot to the ‘ChildFund Korea’ to sponsor food boxes that will give happy laughter to children from low-income families. More information is available at the official website (www.shakeshack.kr), Instagram (@shakeshackkr), and Kakao Plus Friends (Shake Shack).

An official from Shake Shack said, “To mark the 7th anniversary of its entry to the Korean market, Gangnam Branch, the first store of Shake Shack, will welcome customers in a new location. The new Gangnam Branch, which opens in August, will showcase a venue which emphasizes a fine casual dining concept and wood and green interiors, and provide customers with a resting place in the city with Shake Shack products.”
