Paris Baguette Changwon Yanggok Store provides dreams and hopes to children in need

The store owner Min-kyung Jeong gives dreams and hopes to children through her volunteer work.
In Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, there is a store that has been sharing for a long time for the kids with a promising future in the local community. It is Paris Baguette Changwon Yanggok Store. The Windmill of Hope Sharing Workplace and Vision Store Certificate’ posted at the store entrance show how sincere this place is in supporting underprivileged children.
Paris Baguette Changwon Yanggok Store donates products to Masan Orphanage and children from multicultural families on special days such as Children’s Day and Christmas. They participate in regular sponsorships and have received certificates from the Korean Red Cross and World Vision International respectively. In particular, the Korean Red Cross and the store owner Min-kyung Jeong have had a long-standing relationship.

Min-kyung Jeong, the store owner, is a former baker who took over the store in 2017 as a good opportunity and continues to run the Paris Baguette Changwon Yanggok Store. She had experience donating to the Korean Red Cross when she was young, and even after becoming the store owner, she continued to be interested in donations and volunteer activities. Then, by chance, she found out that the Korean Red Cross volunteer group was visiting the store to buy bread to donate to beneficiaries, and she gave them additional bread to help, which led to her current volunteer activities. She expressed her feelings, saying, “I learned from my customers that there are many people in the world who volunteer,” and “I am very happy that the volunteer activities that I participated in, in consonance with this volunteer spirit gave dreams and hope to neighbors and children in need.”
Concerns of a woman, who became a mother at a late age, for a warmer world
The store owner, Min-kyung Jeong, who is a mother herself, helps children with a motherly heart.
The store owner, Min-kyung Jeong, who recently became a mother, gave birth to a child just 8 months ago. Regarding the reason why she especially helps children a lot, she said that after becoming a parent, she feels quite different when donating than before giving birth, and expressed her sincere feelings for children. The maternal love and responsibility she felt while helping children were the driving force behind the store owner Min-kyung Jeong’s participation in volunteer activities. She said, “The sense of pride I felt when children sent me flower bouquets or hand-written letters expressing their gratitude made me participate in more volunteer activities,” and expressed her intention to continue helping children in need while running the store.
The store owner, Min-kyung Jeong said that the goal of Paris Baguette Changwon Yanggok Store is to become a store open to everyone after reading an article saying that many children are starving due to the limited use of children’s meal cards. In particular, they are putting a lot of effort into creating a store that even children in difficult circumstances can visit without a burden. Dreaming of a world without children suffering from hunger and loneliness, the store owner Min-kyung Jeong bakes warm bread every day.
