Lina’s Gave Memories to Underprivileged Children on World Sandwich Day

 

Lina’s conducted a Happy Sandwich Class for underprivileged children

 
SPC’s French sandwich restaurant Lina’s held a Happy Sandwich Class for children in orphanages to celebrate World Sandwich Day on November 3. As part of corporate social responsibility, Lina’s has been sharing sandwiches with neighbors in need for four years since 2020. This program was designed to give happy memories to underprivileged children.

Lina’s invited 10 children from Cheong Woon Orphanage in Seoul to Lina’s Yeouido Finance Branch and had time to make signature menu items such as Chicken & Almond Sandwich and Club Lina’s 1989 Sandwich. The scene of the sandwich classroom was filled with children’s laughter. SPC Lina’s officials expressed their ambition to continue conveying the creative and healthy energy of Lina’s Sandwiches through various social contribution programs.

 
 

SPC Supports Children With Disabilities Through SPC Happy Fund

 

SPC presents memories to families of children with disabilities through the SPC Happy Fund

 
SPC is carrying out corporate social responsibility to support rehabilitation and education expenses for the disabled through the SPC Happy Fund. SPC Happy Fund is a project in which executives and employees voluntarily participate and donate a portion of their salaries. Over the past 12 years, starting in 2012, approximately 2.3 billion won (1.7 million USD) has been provided to 1,525 disabled children and their families.
 
On November 10, as part of the SPC Happy Fund, SPC supported a trip to Jeju for disabled children and their families together with the Purme Foundation, which helps the disabled with rehabilitation and independence. This trip to Jeju consisted of various activities to build memories, such as visiting tourist attractions, barbecues, and family recreation. An official from the SPC Happy Foundation said that they hope that the family found peace of mind through this trip, and that they will continue to work hard to help various neighbors through corporate social responsibility with executives and employees.

 
 

SPC Sponsors a Food Delivery Vehicle for Food Donation to the Food Bank

 

SPC offered delivery vehicles to food banks across the country to provide food support to the underprivileged

 
Since 1998, SPC has been actively supporting food banks that practice sharing with those at risk of starvation and has happily partnered with the food bank for the last 25 years. In October last year, we signed a business agreement with a national food bank to improve the efficiency and systemization of the food donation delivery system. In March this year, we provided three food donation delivery vehicles to food banks in Sokcho, Jeonju, and Namwon.
 
On November 14, the SPC Happy Foundation held a Donated Food Delivery Vehicle Offering Ceremony at the SPC Future Creation Center together with the KOREA Foodbank. Last March, we donated three additional refrigerated delivery trucks to help deliver donated food quickly and safely. Officials from both companies who participated in this ceremony delivered a total of three new delivery vehicles to the food banks in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do, Geochang, Gyeongnam, and Cheongwon, North Chungcheong Province. SPC’s donation of food delivery vehicles to support vulnerable groups will continue in the future.
 
 

SPC Conducted an Employee Donation Campaign to Create Jobs for the Disabled

SPC carried out the “Let’s Give Gi-bu (Donation)” campaign to create employment for the disabled

 
SPC has been conveying the warmth of sharing to its neighbors through goods donation campaigns. As part of these activities, from October 14th to 20th, SPC Happy Foundation conducted a goods donation campaign for employees called “Let’s Give Gi-bu (Donation)”, with Goodwill Store, a social enterprise that provides jobs for people with disabilities. Through this campaign, the SPC Happy Foundation received office supplies, books, clothing, etc. as donations from SPC executives and employees. The used goods received were delivered to Goodwill Store to support jobs for the disabled and vulnerable groups.
 

ESG event where two used batteries are exchanged for one new battery

 
In addition, the ESG management team held an event to exchange used batteries for new ones as part of ESG management. It is said that up to 95% of waste batteries, which can easily lead to environmental pollution, can be recycled if collected properly. The waste batteries recovered this time were delivered to administrative agencies for recycling as valuable resources. With the addition of special events, the meaning of this donation campaign has become even deeper.
 
SPC has already been steadily conducting a donation campaign since 2018. In this donation campaign, 1,134 items were collected with the participation of 224 executives and employees, and a total of 9,517 items have been delivered so far to create jobs for people with disabilities. An official from the SPC Happy Foundation said that they planned a campaign in which all employees can participate to spread the company’s sharing culture, and that SPC will continue to actively support the independence of the disabled through various corporate social responsibilities.
 
 

SPC Expresses Gratitude to Men in Uniform

 

SPC conducted an appreciation campaign for those who have devoted themselves to the country

 
SPC conducted a Respect for Men in Uniform appreciation campaign from November 9th to 22nd. Those eligible for the benefit were currently employed men in uniform, public servants, such as military personnel and police officers. This campaign was planned to reflect the significance of Firefighting Day on the 9th, Armed Forces Day and Police Day last October, and to convey gratitude and respect to men in uniform, who work hard for national security and the people.
 
All 6,600 direct and franchise stores nationwide operated by SPC, including Paris Baguette and Baskin Robbins, participated in the Respect for Men in Uniform appreciation campaign, and up to 20% benefits, including a 15% discount on purchase amount and 5% accumulation of Happy Points, were provided. In the future, SPC plans to hold a charity event for men in uniform in the second half of each year to express gratitude to those who have devoted themselves to the country.
 
 

SPC Took Part in Volunteer Work to Create a Safer City on Firefighting Day

 

SPC BR Korea conducted employee volunteer activities to celebrate Firefighting Day.

 
SPC BR Korea has continued to carry out ESG activities and corporate social responsibility. Last July, a total of 30,000 items were provided to flood victims affected by heavy rain. On November 7th, in celebration of Firefighting Day, we conducted a volunteer activity to create a safer city by repainting underground fire hydrants in the Gangnam-daero area together with the Seocho Fire Department and Seocho Volunteer Center.
 
BR Korea executives and employees painted 33 underground fire hydrants with characters based on firefighters to improve the city’s aesthetics and make it easier to identify fire hydrants. This volunteer activity was planned to raise awareness of public safety and provide encouragement to local fire departments. BR Korea plans to continue to coexist with the local community through various corporate social responsibilities.
 
 
So far, we introduced you to SPC’s corporate social responsibility for November. It was a time of sharing to help our neighbors live happy lives.
