SPC Concludes Business Agreement on ‘Safety Culture Diffusion Campaign’ with Ministry of Employment and Labor

SPC (CEO Hur Young-in) announced on March 10, 2023 that it had signed a business agreement with Seongnam District Office of the Central Regional Employment and Labor Administration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Head of Branch Kim Young-mi, hereinafter the ‘District Office’) to run the ‘Safety Culture Diffusion Campaign’.
Under this agreement, SPC plans to cooperate with the District Office to spread the safety culture in eastern Gyeonggi Province such as preventing accidents at industrial sites and raising safety awareness in the local community. In particular, various publicity activities will be carried out to heighten the safety awareness of not only business owners and workers but also citizens in their daily lives.
First, SPC will take the initiative in forming a social consensus on safety culture by attaching phrases and logos to publicize the spread of safety culture campaign on the outer package of products manufactured at its business sites in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, such as Paris Croissant and Shani, until June. Furthermore, it will support various safety culture events and engage in activities to establish an autonomous preventive system for safety and health, including labor-management joint safety inspections.
SPC also attended the kick-off ceremony of the ‘Safety Culture Practice Promotion Group’ of eastern Gyeonggi Province held at the Hanul Hall of Korea Job World on March 9, 2023, along with other participants, such as the District Office, the Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and 17 private and public institutions and 20 companies.
An SPC official said, “SPC will perform our role and responsibility to secure safety by planning and undertaking diverse safety culture activities which encourage the broader participation by companies and citizens. We will also continue our cooperation with eastern Gyeonggi province to practice safety culture.”
