SPC Group said on December 5 that it has opened ‘Passion5 Terrace,’ a bakery & restaurant within its Passion5 building in Hannam-dong.
Passion5 is a flagship brand of SPC Group specializing in pastries, cakes, and desserts based on the group’s decades-long know-how in baked goods. The new Passion5 Terrace is the place that expresses its continuous passion and effort for making bread, the basis of a bakery under the slogan “Made from the origin, Baked with Passion.”
As part of this commitment, Passion5 Terrace has installed a stone milling machine to display how the bread is made from the ancient wheat flour. The ancient wheat is originated from Egypt, known for the origin of bread. Also, the store offers a variety of pastries, sandwiches, brunch menus, and coffees.
The stone milling system, which is shown at the second-floor entrance after walking up the spiral staircase, is a hybrid between the ancient millstone and the modern electric machine and shows the whole process of bread making from turning wheat into flour to kneading and baking in the oven.
It also boasts the space design that befits its name “terrace,” which features vintage objets in the courtyard and sunken spaces and thus creates a cozy ambiance.
The main items sold in Passion5 Terrace include ancient wheat baguette, ancient wheat bread, stone mill croissant, and Pain gros fig l’ami jean. All the items are based on the ancient wheat flour that makes one feel the deep taste of the ingredients as well as the sweet taste of all-wheat bread. In addition, the store offers a variety of sandwiches such as the baguette with prosciutto & balsamic eggplant and tuna & coleslaw l’ami jean and brunch menus such as free range fertilized eggs & sausages and Roman meal bread croque monsieur.
The existing Passion5 store located on the first floor will transform into space with a more variety of cakes and desserts. It will have a larger cake showcase, which is a symbol of Passion5, with desserts like St. Honoré and mille-feuille on display. The first-floor store will also sell its signature items bottled pudding, Baumkuchen, and roll cakes, with baked cookies, gift items, gelato, chocolate, wine, confiture, and others by adding expertise to them.
