SPC Group to Open Korea’s 16th Shake Shack at COEX
May 20, 2021 – SPC Group announced today its plan to open Korea’s sixteenth Shake Shack on the first floor of COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul in early June.
Prior to the new store opening, Shake Shack unveiled a temporary mural artwork resembling New York Broadway with a video work called ‘Movie Street with Shake Shack’, created with the media art studio Bicture showing scenes of famous movies and images overlapping with Shake Shack.
Believing in creating a warm community gathering place for all, Shake Shack displays unique public art work in the form of hoarding art reflecting the characteristics of areas where each new store is located.
A pre-opening event will be held until May 31st where 100 people will be selected among those who upload their photos in front of the mural artwork on the social media channel to enjoy Shake Shack menus on Community Day, a pre-opening session. With Megabox cinema, movie discount coupons will be given away on the Happy Point mobile application until June 13th. Megabox app users can also download Shake Shack custard coupons.
As part of its commitment to promote shared growth with local communities, Shake Shack will also donate food boxes to low-income households through a local charity called ChildFund Korea and deliver its products to local welfare centers.
