SPC to Provide Relief Goods to Heavy Rain, Flood and Landslide-Hit Areas

On July 17, SPC Group (Chairman Hur Young-in) announced its plan to provide emergency relief goods to areas affected by torrential rain, floods, and landslides.

On July 17 and 18, SPC Happy Foundation will deliver a total of 10,000 units of SPC Samlip bread and bottled water via the Korean Red Cross to the affected areas, including Jeonbuk, Chungbuk, Gyeongbuk, and Chungnam Provinces. Relief goods will be used to support victims and firefighters and other disaster recovery personnel assigned to the scene.

An official from the SPC Group said, “Our Group hopes that our donation will be of some help to the victims of floods and landslides and to the firefighters who are dedicating themselves to relief activities. As the rain has not completely stopped yet and the affected areas are still expanding, we are planning to have close consultations with the Korean Red Cross and positively consider providing additional support.”

Meanwhile, the SPC Group has been actively offering relief goods and support for restoration in case of disasters such as floods, forest fires, typhoons, etc., which is underpinned by a regular cooperation system with the Korean Red Cross. Last year, the group also delivered emergency relief goods to Seoul, Incheon, and other metropolitan areas, Gangwon and Chungnam regions, which were severely hit by floods. In January and April of this year, it donated relief supplies to Seo-gu, Daejeon, where a large forest fire broke out, and Guryong Village, Gaepo-dong, which was damaged by a fire. The Group has provided a total of 800,000 breads and bottled water so far.
